Fibresheet

Through an extensive R&D programme, Fibretech developed a complex two-stage process, which resulted in the successful production of a series of highly innovative materials that each have specialised properties for use in a range of applications – Fibresheet.

Using Rapid Solidification Technology (RST) combined with i-melt® technology and a precision sintering process, it was possible to produce a complex network of engineered fibres with a surface area significantly higher than if alternative fibres were used. Fibresheet uses base materials – including Ni200, Inco600, and AlSi – which can be tailored to provide bespoke solutions through enhanced material properties:

• Custom Porosity: Engineered from 40% to 90%+ to balance permeability with structural density
• Variable Thickness: From ultra-thin membranes to heavy-duty 4mm+ structural sheets
• Fibre Morphology: Nominal diameters from 50–200 µm to optimise surface-to-volume ratios

Fibresheet is the latest in a series of novel materials developed by Fibretech, providing a precision-sintered material using solid-state diffusion techniques allowing robust metallic bonding. The result is a rigid, binder-free, self-supporting architecture fibrous network with highly advanced material characteristics for use in next-gen energy generation and storage.
